MC to host Career Closet charity event for Starting Point
MONMOUTH, Ill. — Monmouth College students will have the opportunity to build their professional wardrobe on a budget at a Career Closet charity event on Nov. 3 from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. in the Tartan Room in the college’s Stockdale Center.

New and gently used men’s and women’s clothes – including such items as suits, blazers, slacks, skirts, ties, dress shirts and blouses – will be on sale for no more than $15 per item. Cash and checks will be accepted, with the proceeds benefiting Monmouth’s Starting Point, a stable home environment where individuals receive mentorship and guidance in life skills, education and vocation.

Persons wishing to donate clothing items for the event can bring them to the college’s office of career development, located on the upper floor of Poling Hall. Items will be accepted through Oct. 30.

The event will also include a “Résumé First Aid Clinic,” which will allow students to bring in their résumés for a quick review.
