As this new chapter in your story opens, a world of opportunity awaits.
At Monmouth College, you will be offered opportunities to create rewarding friendships,
engage in extraordinary intellectual adventures, discover exciting opportunities and
new horizons, and experience invaluable personal growth.
Here, you'll find the college experience to be everything it’s meant to be.
At Monmouth, you’ll be challenged and changed, affirmed and
supported. Here, you can be yourself, follow your dreams, explore your
potential, and discover the world.
Monmouth College offers a unique, interdisciplinary approach to liberal
education. We offer the usual majors, minors, and interdisciplinary programs
of a selective, residential,
nationally-ranked liberal arts college. We offer small classes and a strong
academic advising program. Over 95% of our graduates cross the platform at
Commencement in four years. 99% of our graduates receive job offers or are
accepted into graduate school within six months of graduation. However, woven throughout the curriculum at
Monmouth is our Integrated Studies program, beginning with Introduction to
Liberal Arts in the first year, followed by Global Perspectives in the
second, Reflections in the junior year, and Citizenship in the senior year,
an interdisciplinary capstone unlike anything other colleges provide.
We pride ourselves on our faculty and on our commitment to excellent
undergraduate education. Over 87% of our instructors have the highest degree
in their field, and many are leaders in their areas of expertise. Many have
been (and continue to be) published and are deeply engaged in scholarly
work, but that doesn’t mean they are hidden away, focusing on the latest
research project. Monmouth faculty are
accessible and available – and profoundly
student-centered. Our faculty take their reputation for excellent
mentoring and advising very seriously. In fact, this dedication to students
is in large part why US News & World Report has consistently ranked Monmouth
College as a Top National Liberal Arts College for years.
Your world of opportunity will include international travel, summer research
opportunities, internship experiences, and much more. The many academic
support services available through the Mellinger Teaching and Learning
Center will offer you guidance and assistance at every point in your college
career. Faculty advisors and other mentors will be at hand when you need
advice or a listening ear.
As a
community of learners, we strive to create and sustain an environment that
is value-centered, intellectually challenging, aesthetically inspiring, and
culturally diverse. We integrate
a four-year program of general education with in-depth study in the major
and a rich array of co-curricular activities in order to foster the
discovery of connections among disciplines and of larger patterns of
meaning. Through these
experiences, we help our students explore multiple perspectives on the human
condition and prepare themselves for rich personal and professional lives –
for leadership, citizenship, and service in a global context.
