The
final examination period is considered to be a regular part of the academic semester.
It is expected that
instructors will administer final examinations in all regularly scheduled courses with the
exception of independent studies.
Each final examination must
be given during its assigned examination period. In those infrequent cases of courses where
traditional examination procedures do not appear applicable or practical, the instructor is
expected to use the scheduled examination period as a scheduled class period for the semester.
Some
professors who have more than one section of the same course may choose to use the Multiple
Section exam slot. In some situations, a student may find that more than one of their
professors has chosen to use this exam slot, creating a conflict. The faculty members will
also need to offer their exam during the regularly scheduled exam time in order to manage
these conflicts.
