Will your college scrapbook be written at Monmouth College?
Good Question! And
the only way to find out if this is the place for you is to come explore the
campus...experience the sights and sounds...discover for yourself what life and learning are
all about here at MC.And
that's exactly what this section is all about - planning a trip to campus that will provide
you with the information you need to make your decision.
Before You Do Anything, Focus
Take a close look at YOU. Jot down your achievements, accomplishments and goals. A few
notes will help keep you focused while you're talking to our advisors and faculty.
Be candid. It's OK to brag a little. The more you can tell us
about yourself, the better we'll be able to tell you what you want to know about us!
Look Us Over
Read through our web site and any brochures, informational letters and flyers you've
received from us. Make sure the vital statistics listed in
"MC At a
Glance" match your interests and expectations.
Be Sure To Check Out Every Angle
There's nothing more frustrating than getting home after a great day on campus only to realize
you forgot to ask an important question. So before you make the trip, make a list of the
things you want to know, like:
- Academic Strength
- Size of Classes in Your Major
- Athletic Opportunities
- Financial Aid Programs
- Size of Freshman Class
- Student Activities
- Job Placement Services
- Student Employment Opportunities
A Picture Perfect Day
Because your college career will provide you with the basic framework for professional
success, we want you to get the most out of your first campus experience. Here's a short
itinerary of stops you won't want to miss:
STOP ONE: THE INTERVIEW
Begin your day on campus with an interview with an Admission Office representative. This
is where your notes about your achievements, accomplishments and goals will come in handy.
Again, don't be afraid to speak up and tell us about yourself. How else will we find out what
a wonderful addition to our student body you will be?
STOP TWO: THE TOUR
This is the fun part - you'll see the campus in action. And, you'll get to meet with
faculty, have lunch with students just as they do every day...even sit in on a class. This is
when you'll really get a feel for what life at Monmouth College is all about.
STOP THREE: SPECIAL INTEREST MEETINGS
Want to meet with a faculty member in your major? Would you like to meet with a particular
coach to find out how you might fit into our athletic program? Want in-depth information about
financial assistance? Just let us know what interests you have and we'll arrange for you to
meet with the appropriate person.
