Each student has at
least one faculty academic adviser. The academic adviser is the
individual to help with students’ intellectual, social and emotional
development while at Monmouth
College. Thus, an adviser:

Is
interested in the student as an individual

Helps a
student develop his/her course of study

Discusses
his/her academic progress

Helps to
link the general education program, the mission of the college, and
the student's major together

Help the
student set goals
-
Is a
friendly person for the student to turn to in time of need or
crisis

Knows how
to link the student with the appropriate people who can help with
difficulties

Provides
the student with encouragement
-
Makes a
serious effort to get to know the advisee
