A COGNITIVE APPROACH TO MENTAL AND PHYSICAL WELL-BEING.
It is well established that our thoughts impact the way we feel
emotionally and physically. Since your time away from Monmouth, you have
no doubt picked up some mental habits that may be contrary to your
well-being. Learn straight forward and simple methods of identifying and
challenging your thought patterns and feel like a young, vibrant student
again. Presentation by Kristin Larson, Assistant Professor, Department
of Psychology

Follow the Yellow Brick Road and you will discover that The Wizard of Oz
contains hidden economic and political messages. Somewhere Over the
Rainbow is the ideal place to learn the secret code that explains the
real meaning of the story you think you know. Presentation by Michael
Connell, Chair of the Political Ecomony and Commerce Department.

John Niblock, '58, and Chuck Courtney, '57, captured special moments on
tape in spring 1957. More than a half-century later, Niblock will tell
us about the taping sessions and play the results. We'll hear Dr. Gibson
giving a Vespers prayer, Dean Liedman announcing a faculty vote allowing
coeds to stay out till midnight for formals (but no dancing after
midnight since that's Sunday), Bill Beabout calling Cheryl Moore for a
date, the college choir and cheerleaders. We'll also hear the bagpipe
band, the whistle on the steamplant announcing a sports victory,
Courtney and Niblock reading Chapel announcements, and Joe Tait doing
the play-by-play for the Monmouth-Knox basketball game on WRAM. The
voice you hear may be yours! Location: Wells Theatre

8:00 p.m. MONMOUTH COLLEGE RADIO MYSTERY THEATRE Location: Kasch
Performance Hall, Dahl Chapel and Auditorium
Directed by emeritus theater professor Jim De Young and featuring the
vocal talents of several Monmouth College alumni, this original reader's
theater production will be performed in the style of a live old-time
radio drama.

9:00 a.m. Memorial Service, Conducted by Rev. Dr. Kathleen Fannin. Join
us as we memorialize the members of our Monmouth College family who have
passed away during the past year.

10:00 a.m. All Alumni Closing Brunch, Location: Main Dining Hall,
Stockdale Center
Registration: A registration form is attached. Please complete and
return the form to the Office of Development and College Relations, with
full payment by May 16, 2008.
Upon arrival, all alumni are asked to check-in at the registration booth
in the Stockdale Center. Your meal tickets, room reservation and other
information will be ready for you when you register.
Check in/out times:
THURSDAY: 1:00 P.M 9:00 P.M.; FRIDAY: 8:00 A.M. 9:00 P.M.; SATURDAY:
8:00 A.M. 9:00 P.M.; SUNDAY: 8:30 A.M. 12:00 P.M.
Refund Policy: Cancellations prior to May 16, 2008 will receive a
full refund. No refunds will be given to cancellations made after May
16, 2008.
Housing: Alumni and their families are encouraged to stay on campus in
either Bowers Hall or Peterson Hall during the weekend. Linens, towels,
pillows and blankets (one per bed) are provided. Please feel free to
bring additional linens if desired. Children may stay in the same room
with their parents in their own sleeping bags at no charge. Peterson
Hall suites consist of two bedrooms and a bathroom. Bowers Hall suites
consist of two bedrooms, common living room and a bathroom.
Please indicate whether you have a preference for suitemates or prefer
to have the suite to yourself. (Rental of an entire suite is $60/night.)
Rooms are assigned on a first-come, first served basis.
Meals: Advance reservations are required.
Emergencies: In case of emergency, phone the Stockdale Center Office
(309)457-2345. Outside calls must be made from the Stockdale Center
Office.
