Q: Who is invited to the
Golden Scots Celebration?
A: All alumni seniors (age 65 and over) are being invited
and encouraged to come back to Monmouth College every year for the new Golden
Scots Celebration (formerly known as Alumni Weekend). All members of the
college's McMichael Heritage Society are also being invited.
Q: What classes are celebrating a
Reunion
at Golden Scots Celebration?
A: The classes of 1964, 1959, 1954, 1949 and 1944 are
celebrating anniversary reunions.
Q: When will we receive registration materials?
A: A schedule of events is available online but will
continue to be updated as the Golden Scots Celebration gets closer.
You are able to pre-register online to reserve your spot in a residence
hall as well as for the Springfield bus trip on June 4.
A brochure will be mailed in March.
Q: What type of lodging is available during the Golden Scots
Celebration?
A: The residence halls will be open for alumni to stay in
during the Golden Scots Celebration. The
halls used are equipped with air-conditioning, elevators and private baths for
each suite. (Bowers Hall suites also
have a living room). A suite sleeps
4 people, two people in separate bedrooms with one separate, shared bathroom.
Sheets, a blanket per bed and towels are provided for each room.
Some handicap rooms are available.
Please make note on your registration form if special housing
arrangements are needed. Off campus
lodging is available. Arrangements
are not made by the college.
Q: Where are my friends staying?
A: Most classes
are housed in the same residence hall.
Please make arrangements with one another if you would like to share a
room or suite. Both parties should
indicate that they will be rooming with each other on the registration form.
Q: What type of transportation is available for the Golden
Scots Celebration?
A: Golf carts and vans are available on campus throughout
the weekend to assist with transportation to and from residence halls and
events. Should you need assistance
with transportation to and from the airport or train we will be happy to assist
you. Please contact the Office of Alumni Programs at 309-457-2316.
Q: Are pets allowed on campus?
A: We are sorry, but no pets are allowed on campus.
Q: If I have special dietary requirements, will
arrangements be made?
A: Yes, please indicate on your registration form if you
have special dietary requirements.
Dining services will make the necessary arrangements.
Q: What should I pack?
A: We recommend packing casual clothes with business casual
for the evenings. In case of rain or
cold weather (cold air-conditioned buildings) bring umbrellas and sweaters.
Telephones are not available in residence hall rooms.
Bring your own alarm clock if you need an alarm.
Every guest will be provided linens, 1 blanket, 1 pillow, a set of
towels, a bar of soap and a few hangers.
You should pack other necessary toiletries.
