how your education and experience as a student here helped prepare you
for the rest of your life. Think about your professors and the friends
that you met here.
We are in the final days of the
2007-08 Monmouth College Annual Fund and are trying to get a much higher
percentage of alumni participation. National college rankings -- like
U.S. News & World Report -- rate colleges in part on "alumni loyalty."
This rating is the percentage of alumni who give each year to their alma
mater.
As MC’s alumni loyalty rating
rises, Monmouth’s reputation increases and we move up in the rankings of
national liberal arts colleges. The result is that a Monmouth College
degree becomes even more valuable. That holds true for the degrees the
college just awarded at commencement, as well as your degree and the
degrees of all other MC alumni from the past.
Independent colleges like Monmouth
do not receive tax appropriations from the Illinois legislature like
state public universities do. The college awards financial assistance to
students through scholarships, financial aid and student jobs. We very
much depend on the contributions of our alumni to meet our financial aid
awards.
The amount of a gift is important,
but it is even more important that you give. By making a donation, you
are saying that you haven’t forgotten Monmouth College and that you do
have good memories of your years as a student here. Your participation
says you value the education you received here and that Monmouth did
help you develop the knowledge, talents and skills that have been
helpful in your life.
Please make a contribution to
Monmouth College. We need your support -- whatever amount you decide to
give. Every donor matters. Every gift counts. All gifts from alumni add
up and they really do make a difference for our college.
