My fifth
grandchild was born in January and of all of them he looks the most like
me if you can imagine that. I am getting used to townhome living, but I
have to keep setting goals for myself to replace working in the yard. I
am trying to get into shape to start hiking again in the Sierras in
2008. Pete Suffredini and I plan a hike to the top of Mt. Whitney,
14,000 feet. If I fall off will one of you replace me as class
secretary? My daughter, who is a landscape painter, presently has a show
of her work at Knox College. While helping her set up the show I
purposely wore my MC red alumni hat. The Knox Art Faculty noticed and
reacted. Any way to keep the rivalry going is fun. I received a letter
from Jim Hornaday about the The Alaska legislature honoring Karen Harr
for her service to the State of Alaska. They named a park after her in
Homer. Another example of the great things our class has accomplished.
She was a fine woman and is an inspiration to our class. I miss her!
CLASS SECRETARY LETTER
As you know, we had a great time at the
45th reunion. Those of us attending sure missed you. Now we are on quest
to round up the class for our 50th. I have attended several reunions and
observed the 50 year classes. Our class stands with most of them in
terms of accomplishments and contributions to the college. I am waiting
for a list of ideas for our 50 year class gift to the college. It is
tradition to present a gift at the 50 year reunion luncheon. When we
receive the list it will be sent to you so you can make a choice and
return it. We have formed a committee to tabulate the results. We will
let you know the results. I take it that you received my mailing of the
reunion summary in June. We will use those addresses as accurate
contacts for you in the future. I hope you had a great summer and it
will continue throughout the year.
