Chris Heatherly
Dear Class of 1994,
Happy 2007 to you
all! Molly and I are still in Bavaria and enjoying our extended tour in
Germany. If you get the chance, I highly recommend traveling here.
This is "postcard" Germany and not to be missed. I was recently
promoted to Major which is a big milestone in my career. I am still as
an Observer/Controller for the Joint Multinational Readiness Center and
Molly is now working on post.
As you can see,
our alumni newsletter is pretty sparse. It has been 13 long years since
we graduated, and I would like to get updates from everyone. You can
update your information on this website or by sending me an email.
As always, I encourage you to donate to
the Monmouth Fund. You can even donate online at:
http://www.monm.edu/online-giving/index.htm This is a great way to
assist current students with scholarships, modernize the facilities and
keep MC at the forefront of academics. I look forward to hearing from
you. Please take a moment and update your alumni news at:
http://www.monm.edu/alumni/index.htm
Take care! Chris Heatherly '94

Jessica Bunch Butcher
Macomb, IL
May 1, 2008
Jessica Butcher, an assistant director
of Student Development and Orientation (SDO) at Western Illinois
University, has been named the interim assistant to the vice president
of student services at WIU, effective March 1, according to Vice
President for Student Services Garry Johnson.
As interim assistant to the vice president for student services, Butcher
will be responsible for developing and coordinating special projects;
serving as an administrative official within the division; serving as a
member of the cabinet for the vice president for student services; and
serving as a liaison between the vice president for student services and
departments in the Division of Student Services, the University, outside
organizations and agencies, as well as current students and alumni.
Butcher will develop strategic plan and annual report documents and
presentations; coordinate monthly student services awards meetings; host
division-wide awards recognition programs; and organize and attend
alumni events. The assistant to the vice president is also responsible
for the development of the student services capital campaign plan and
serves as a member of the University Development Council. "Jessica's
years of experience in student services and her familiarity with Western
will be an asset in her new role as my assistant," Johnson added. "Her
knowledge of this division will allow her to build on the work that
former assistant Monica Allen began and take the student services
division to the next level.
Jessica has a great relationship with folks on and off campus. She
probably knows and keeps in touch with more of our former staff and
students than anyone I know. She will be outstanding in this role." She
received her bachelor's degree in speech communications and English from
Monmouth College (1994) and her master's degree in college student
personnel from WIU (1996).

I have been at
Bridgeway for 13 years now and have been promoted to supervisor. We are
contracted through DCFS to offer services to families in need. I keep
busy with my 2 kids and coach Hunter's softball team in the summer. I
live on a farm and love it, only 7 miles from the college. The campus
sure has changed from our days but it looks very nice.
