Goals for Learning Outcomes
As an undergraduate liberal arts institution, Monmouth College seeks to:

1. Insure that students are broadly educated across the disciplines in the arts, the sciences, and human societies.

2. Foster student awareness of relationships among the disciplines and divisions of knowledge.

3. Provide students with an in-depth understanding of the content and methods of a major academic discipline.

4. Provide students with the intellectual skills necessary for a meaningful and useful life,

c. Information acquisition and source evaluation skills.

5. Develop students’ knowledge, skills and values such that they may function as effective citizens.

6. Introduce students to multiple perspectives on the human condition and promote awareness of the growing interconnectedness of our world and its peoples.

7. Allow those students who seek it, an opportunity to explore the spiritual dimension of human existence and the relationship between faith and knowledge.

8. Prepare students for successful, personally rewarding careers throughout their professional lives.
