CAC NARRATIVE:
INCREMENTAL OBJECTIVES AND OUTCOMES

In order to integrate communication activities effectively across the curriculum, we must first know what activities are taking place and where.  The CAC Narrative describes the communication skills addressed at various spots in the Monmouth College curriculum, including:

bullet

Foundational Communication Courses

bullet

Integrated Studies

bullet

Majors (still to be written, as part of the C Plan implementation)

The CAC Narrative, currently being developed, is meant to be an interactive, visible document that will be posted on the CAC website.  Eventually, with the help of the campus Webmaster, the document will look similar to this visual representation. Information on communication activities across the campus will be readily available by “clicking” on appropriate courses or majors (which will bring up the information currently within the gray boxes).

Representing an overall skills framework for the CAC program, the CAC Narrative:

bullet

provides transparency to communication activities;

bullet

provides opportunities not only to articulate the communication skills addressed on the campus but also to develop these skills more strategically; and,

bullet

allows faculty to make communication-based connections with other courses.
