Commencement Ceremony
Monmouth College’s one hundred and forty-eighth
commencement ceremony was held on Sunday, May 15. Prior to the processional at 11:30 am,
the Pipes and Drums performed on Wallace Lawn.
Commencement Speaker
 Dwight
Tierney, a 1969 Monmouth College graduate who helped make music and
television history in 1981 as a member of the team that launched MTV,
delivered the college’s commencement address.
Currently a senior executive
vice president for MTV’s parent corporation, Viacom Inc., Tierney
was presented with an honorary doctor of humane letters degree.
