The Courier, the student newspaper of Monmouth College, is published on selected Fridays each semester. Students, faculty and staff are encouraged to voice their opinions to the editor. All letters must be typed, signed and include a phone number. Letters should not exceed 300 words and should either be emailed to courier@monm.edu or sent via campus mail by 5 p.m. on the Wednesdays preceding publication.
The Courier reserves the right to edit submissions for length, style and standards of good taste. This publication presents opinions that do not necessarily reflect those of the editors, the reporters, the faculty or the administration of Monmouth College.
The Courier office is located in the lower level of the Stockdale Center on the Monmouth College campus. The offices can be reached by calling 309/457-3456. Advertising rates are available upon request.

Ian Van Anden - Editor-in-Chief
Ian is a senior communications & theater arts, history double
major. He has spent four years working for The Courier as a
contributing writer and spent two years as the sports editor. Mr.
Van Anden is also the head resident of The North Hall, where he
dedicates himself to providing a social atmosphere to the building's
residents. Ian is also a avid sports fan and his favorite teams
include the 2007 World Series Champions, Boston Red Sox and
America's team, the Dallas Cowboys. |

Kyle Christensen - News Editor
Kyle Christensen is the News Editor
for
The Courier, the official student newspaper of Monmouth
College. He has been working at the newspaper for approximately
three years, serving in the past as a reporter and features
editor. He is also involved on campus as the news director for the WMCR radio station, a speech tutor for the
communication and
theater arts department and he has been inducted into numerous
academic honorary societies. Kyle's primary goals in life
include eventually attending graduate school and making sure that
he is always the smartest person in the room (both missions, not
yet accomplished).

Lucas Pauley- Features Editor
Lucas is a junior here at MC. Along
with being a co-features editor, he is a part of Big Brothers Big
Sisters, Men's Glee Club, and The Scotsmen. He loves music,
writing and football. Lucas hopes to own a recording studio
someday, and would love to have a career as a journalist,
particularly in the entertainment field.

Lucas Gorham - Features Editor
Luke Gorham is a senior English
major, history minor currently working is second year with the
Courier. He has previously worked as a contributing writer, and is
now the co-features editor on the paper along with the gorgeous
Lucas Pauley. During his free time he enjoys dog breeding,
astrophysics, and boot-cut jeans. After he graduates he hopes to
move to Chicago, Hollywood, or Iowa. Rob Hale is his god. |

Dustin Looney - Sports Editor
Junior Dustin Looney
is an English major at Monmouth College; he has been working for
The Courier for three years. He enjoys school, but he also loves
to venture home and see his family, friends and dogs.
Looney enjoys playing
frisbee, soccer and basketball; cheering on the Chicago White Sox
also gives him tremendous delight.
According to Looney, "I'm
definitely going to profoundly change the world one day, but until
then I'm just going to do my thing, you know, keep it real as
steel."

Amanda Bloomer - Copy/Layout Editor
Amanda Bloomer
is a senior, who is double majoring in English and history. She
hails from Madrid, Iowa (a small town, 30 min. North of Des
Moines). This is her second year writing for The Courier
and her first as copy/ layout editor. Reading is nice. She does a
lot of that. She prefers prose over poetry, and James Joyce over
everyone else. |

Pamela Steskal- Advertisement Manager
Pamela Steskal, majoring in public relations and
communications & theater arts, from Nebraska. Pamela also serves president of ScotSpeak! and
advertising manager of The Courier and participates in Lambda Pi Eta
(Communications Honor Society) and Blue Key Honor Society. |

Vanessa Schumacher - Online Manager
Vanessa is a senior
elementary education major and will be graduating this May.
She is involved in Alpha Xi Delta, Kappa Delta Pi, Scot Ambassador,
and is a Golden Apple Scholar. She will be student teaching in
the spring semester of 2008 in a kindergarten classroom and can't
wait to spend the rest of her life with kids. |

Ryne Tate - Photography Manager
RyneTate is a junior
secondary education history major. He has spent three years
working for The Courier as a contributing writer, photographer and
photography manager. His other activities at Monmouth College are
independent film-making, creative writing and general slacking
off in academic work. RyneTate is a techie, videogame/comic book
nerd who hopes to one day write comics professionally.

Abigail McLaughlin - Photographer
Abby is a
senior psychology major and this is her first year working for The Courier.
Ms. McLaughlin is also the head resident of Fulton Hall, where
she spends most of her time dedicated to her residents. Abby
uses several forms or artistic expression, including ceramics,
to relax and relieve stress.
