This year Greeks Advocating Mature Manage-ment of Alcohol (G.A.M.M.A.) will be teaming up with BACCHUS (the Greek God of wine).
Last year was G.A.M.M.A.’s first year back on campus and this year they will be joining forces with BACCHUS, an organization in its first year.
G.A.M.M.A. is an organization that promotes the social awareness of alcohol, primarily among the Greek System, but the student body as well. Only being in its second year on campus, the organization has many great events planned for the near and distant future.
Some of these events include a safe ride home program, a designated driver’s card, speaking with local high school students on the mature use of alcohol and a “Late Night” at the Huff Athletic Center.
BACCHUS has the same intent as G.A.M.M.A., reaching out towards those students that would like to help with such programs, but are not affiliated with the Greek System.
This is the first year for this organization, which headed by Molly McNamara, director of wellness here on campus.
“I am very excited about teaming up with G.A.M.M.A. this year. I think the resources that we have from doing this will enhance what we already have,” said McNamara. G.A.M.M.A. and BACCHUS meet on every other Wednesday at 6 pm in the Tartan Room in lower level Stockdale and are always looking for more students to help with this great cause.
