“Recycled Percussion” revisited

When people are first introduced to Recycled Percussion, they are not really sure what to expect.  Recycled Percussion are self-described as “the original innovators of metal grinding, bucket bashing, junk rock drumming.” These entertainers are outstanding. They travel all around the country performing for many different kinds of events.

Not only do the three men know how to drum, they are able to incorporate fire extinguishers, buckets, pots, ladders and music into their performances. This is a show that gives much variety to the audience.

Throughout the show, they stopped their drumming and engaged the audience with clapping and yelling. They also picked random audience members to go up on stage and they were given two drumsticks. They were each asked to perform a task with the drumsticks and, if they made an error, they were asked to leave the stage. At the end of the competition, the winner won a poster and was able to sign one of their buckets.

In addition, Recycled Percussion brought out three ladders. Each performer had their own ladder to work with and they began by playing on the steps of the ladder. They proceeded to walk up the ladder while playing. After standing on top of the ladders, they jumped off and ran their drumsticks down the side and started all over again at the bottom.

Besides drumming and getting the audience involved, the group also beat-boxed. This also showed the audience they were there to have a good time as well.

For their grand finale, the members of Recycled Percussion put a mix of popular songs together and  played along with the music.  This was really neat because the audience was singing along while they were drumming. When they were finished, they proceeded to grind metal-on-metal to create sparks. This came as sort of a shock to the audience because everyone thought the performance was over.

Recycled Percussion is an extremely talented group and are very passionate about what they do. I would recommend Recycled Percussion for any event because it would interest people of all different ages.
