Ian Moschenross, assistant professor of music, was appointed to the board of directors of the Illinois State Music Teachers Association (ISMTA).
ISMTA is a “professional association comprised of independent music teachers, public school as well as college/university music professors. We provide professional support in the form of conferences and conventions, workshops, scholarships, small-business advice for the independent teach, and organize regular events for students, including many competitions and concerts. We are state-level counterpart to the Music Teachers National Association,”says Moschenross.
Moschenross’s title is “Chair of Piano” and his responsibilities will include attending board meetings as a voting member, and participating in the associations’ deliberations and decision making.
Moschenross was appointed to this position by the current president while attending the state conference in October. He also performed a program on November 20 at the Gail Borden Public Library in Elgin, featuring pieces by Bach, Beethoven, Chopin and Schumann.
This performance was recorded and will be televised at a later date.
