Monmouth College had the pleasure of hiring two new faculty members this year, Vance Pierce, coordinator of intercultural life, and Sarah Graham, director of choral activities and vocal studies.

Pierce said, “I saw an opportunity at MC to help students, which was one of my main goals.”

In addition, he saw the commitment MC has to their students, which attracted him to pursue this career choice.

Currently, he is enjoying MC's atmosphere by seeing familiar faces everyday and stated, “ Monmouth College is everything I expected, and more.”

Pierce will be mainly working with the international and minority students, dealing with scholarships/internships/employment opportunities and hopes to make a change in the lives of students by encouraging them to learn new skills to become better people.

As for Graham, she was first attracted to MC by the fact that it was similar to where she performed her undergraduate studies, which was at Whitworth College in Spokane , Washington .

She enjoys smaller campuses with familiar faces as well and when asked how she likes working here at MC she stated, “I LOVE IT! The students are friendly and it has so far been a great experience.”

She hopes to further develop the music program and believes it has potential to be made well known.

Pierce, a former Bradley graduate, received his master's degree in leadership in human service administration and Graham perused her doctorate at Michigan State in choral conducting.

She also directed the Michigan State University Women's Glee Club and was the assistant coordinator for the Michigan State University Men's Glee Club.
