Women start swinging under new coach

On Wednesday, September 14th the Women's Golf Team placed 4th of 4 at the Elmhurst College Lady Bluejay Invitational. They had a total team score of 409.

At the Home invite on September 10th at Gibson Woods the Lady Scots placed 12th out of 19. With a total team score of 398. Illinois Wesleyan came in first with a team score of 328. Knox College placed 11th only 14 strokes ahead of the Scots.

Friday, September 9th the Lady Scots were at the Knox College Invitational where they tied for 13th out of 17 with a team score of 396.

On Tuesday September 6th the Lady Scots went to Jacksonville , IL to play in the Illinois College Invitational. Captain junior Kacie Parge led the ladies with her lowest personal score so far this season at an 88. As a team the Scots were in 7th place out of 10 with a team score of 382.

At the first invitational of the year at Augustana College the Lady Scots hit a team low of 378 beating last years record.

Returning with Parge this year are teammates sophomores Kathleen Woolley, Erin DeFord who joined the team last spring, and Pamela Steskal who is currently injured.

Coach Molly McNamara said “The attitudes of the girls are always good. They understand that it is an individual sport but still a team competition. The only weakness that we have as a team is that we are fairly inexperienced at the collegiate level.”

Coach McNamara is a Monmouth Alumna and was on the original women's golf team in 1999. She is ready to guide the ladies into a higher level of competition with Illinois College being the leader in the conference and the team to beat
