Galesburg Drive-in re-opened
By Jessica Walendukanis

The newly restored Blue Moonlight Drive-in Theater, located at 2875 W. Main St. in Galesburg , unvieled its screens to the public on Friday, Aug. 5 after being closed for 25 years.
The owners, Ron and Teresa Carlson, began the restoration in April 2004 and, with much time and effort, it was completed in a little over a year.
“We tried to make it a little bit retro,” said Teresa.
After using, roughly, 250 gallons of paint and countless hours, visions of dancing hotdogs, popcorn, and drinks are now displayed.
Ron has owned the property for many years and always had the idea of re-opening it; however it was not until last year that he made this notion a reality.
