Scots nip Norbert 28-20

TIn the last two seasons, Monmouth suffered its only two conference losses to the St. Norbert Green Knights, which has cost them their first ever NCAA playoff berth. The Scots lost to the Green Knights last season 55-19, which became their only loss in their impressive 9-1 season. “We’ve never had our best game with them. If we play out best game against them, there’s no doubt in my mind we can’t beat them,” said Coach Steve Bell. This year, the Green Knights played a talented, more experienced Monmouth team, with senior quarterback Mitch Tanney running the offense, and senior linebacker Justin Zigler controlling the defense. “We really don’t have to say anything to these guys. Soccer crushed by overtime loss

The MC women’s soccer team lost to Culver-Stockton College in a double overtime game.

The ladies fell to Culver-Stockton 3-2 in a heartbreaking loss. In the game goals were scored by senior, Audrey Stoffel and sophomore, Ashley Kensinger. Read More...

Cross Country perseveres
despite lost teammates

The Men’s cross country team continued their season on Saturday Sept. 17 at the Grinnell Les Duke Invit-ational. The race was held at Oakland Acres Golf Course.

As a team, they were able to finish fourth out of 11 teams on the 8K course. Individually, senior Anthony Welty finished third overall for MC with a time of 26:28. Read More...

Volleyball 4 and 0 at University of Chicago Tournament

The MC volleyball team spiked their way to victory this Tuesday Sept. 20 defeating Eureka College 30-21, 30-12, 30-28. The Fighting Scots looked good after winning their ninth game of the young season. The Scots’ win over Eureka was their fifth in as many games, altering the Scots sub .500 record into a beautiful 9-5 mark at this point in the season. Read More...

conference strong

Playing hard during their fifth seasonal game, the Scots lost to Central College in a 4-0 gruesome match.

The soccer game was on Saturday, Sept. 17, held in Pella, Iowa, and the visiting Monmouth Scots lost the match. Even though the Scots had lost 4-0, Monmouth keeper, junior keeper Brad Hofmann pulled off eight amazing saves to keep the Scots alive during the game. Read More...
