Women are the darkhorse

Entering their match against Benedictine University, the Monmouth College women's soccer team had played six games, but they had little to show for it.  Their season record was dead even at 3-3.  This, combined with the fact that it was Family Weekend, heightened the Fighting Scots' desire for a home-field victory this past Sunday at Peacock Memorial Athletic Park.

Although the Lady Scots started slowly, they eventually picked up their intensity and scored two goals in the final 10 minutes of the first half.  They added two more goals in the second half on the way to a resounding 4-0 decision over Benedictine.  The Monmouth women dominated the game, taking an impressive 66 shots on goal.  An even more astounding statistic was that their opponent managed only three shots on goal for the entire game.  Read More...

Volleyball keeps truckin’

The women’s volleyball team traveled to Beliot, Wisc. this past weekend, Sept.24 and 25. The Scots played three matches against St. Norbert, Beloit, and Ripon only winning one against Beloit.

Uncanny Tanney

In their fourth game of the season, the Scots welcomed the Beloit Buccaneers to Bobby Woll Memorial Field. On Saturday Sept. 24, the Scots played in front of the largest crowd of the year as they opposed Beloit; over 2800 Scots faithful witnessed the Scots beat Beloit 56-30.

The win by the Scots improves their record to a perfect 4-0, while Beloit resides in the basement of the Midwest Conference standings currently with a record of 0-4. Read More...

Tennis improving

Ladies clinche to best record in four years

The Monmouth Lady Scots tennis team traveled to Beloit, Wisc. on Saturday Sept. 24 and played against Beloit College and St. Norbert College.

The Lady Scots split a pair of contests. The Lady Scots blasted Beloit College 7-2. In the second match, St. Norbert College edged the Lady Scots 5-4. Read More...

Kallal Blasts Soccer to Victory

The Monmouth Scots men’s soccer squad pulls off yet another stunning, hard-earned game. The Scots played a victorious away match winning against Grinnell College with a final score of 3 – 2.

The game was held in Grinnell, Iowa at the Grinnell College soccer complex. “We played a good team on a good field. We came on the pitch with a positive attitude and won the game,” said Paul Kallal, who scored 2 of the 3 Scots goals. Read More...
