Joe Fitzpatrick has been hired as the new assistant director of residential life, replacing the previous assistant director Ken Morris who left Monmouth College in December.
Previously, Fitzpatrick began as the assistant director of residential life at the College of Santa Fe in Santa Fe, New Mexico and eventually became director of residential life.
He was at the College of Santa Fe for four years, and most recently, spent the last year in the Denver area.
Fitzpatrick’s duties include managing the room selection process, supporting the head residents and resident assistant staff, as well as supporting and working with the director of residential life.
What attracted Fitzpatrick to Monmouth College was its small size, which will allow him to become familarized with the people beyond recognizing their faces.
He commented that he also likes the diversity and variety that Monmouth has to offer.
“I have really enjoyed the first two weeks. Everyone has been welcoming and patient,” Fitzpatrick said.
As for his undergraduate work, he received his B.A. in creative writing from the College of Santa Fe.
