VPAA candidate visits MC
Third candidate visits MC
Gary Phillips, the third candidate for vice president for academic affairs (VPAA) and dean of the faculty, was on campus last week on Monday and Tuesday, Jan. 30-31.
Brief receptions and question and answer sessions were held in the Barnes Electronic Classroom in Hewes Library on Monday afternoon and Tuesday morning.
The former VPAA, George Arnold, held the position from 1996 to 2004 when he left MC to assume the presidency at Silver Lake College in Manitowoc, Wis.
The position has been filled by Interim VPAA and dean of the faculty, Rajkumar Ambrose since 2004. Read More...
Rock and Roll Shakespeare
he Blackfriars Stage Company, formerly known as the Shenandoah Shakespeare Express, performed in Monmouth College’s Dahl Chapel and Auditorium Tuesday, Feb. 7 and Wednesday, Feb. 8 at 7 p.m.
The company, part of the Shenandoah Shakespeare Comp-any of Staunton, VA, tours internationally and MC was just one stop on their “Atomic Fission” tour for 2006. Read More...

Student Receives Prestigious Music Award
Freshman music major Aaron Flatt was recently named the winner of the Monmouth College High School Honor Band Fest-ival’s Second Annual Con-ducting Competition.
Hosted at the Dahl Chapel and Auditorium on Saturday, Jan. 21, Flatt’s prize consisted of leading the full band, which contained more than 80 individuals from throughout the state, at the podium during the ensemble’s public performance of “Echoes” by Samuel Hazo. Read More...
