In search for a place to see free entertainment? Then “The Grounds” is the place to visit. Every Tuesday and Thursday evening from 8-11 p.m. “The Underground” is open to MC students and serves complimentary coffee, tea and hot chocolate.

“The Grounds” was started last year by Wyatt Pruel, ’05 and Kelly Winfrey, ’06 to get a regular coffee-house atmosphere on campus.

Many different bands have played at “The Grounds” and this year RootShootLeaf, The Mar-seilles Shore and Watson have performed.

There is a regular “house band,” which consists of Chris Maurer and Chadd Kaiser, who just “fool around on the stage and have a good time,” said Kaiser.

The average turnout is approximately 15-20 people.

Richard Harrod, Will Dowling and John Skidmore are the central persons in charge of “The Grounds” and Kaiser helps out as much as possible.

For more information, contact any of the above mentioned students or visit “The Grounds” on Facebook or MySpace.
