March is the month of nutrition and Monmouth College has received tips on how to eat healthy and how to control student’s weight gain. On Wednesday, March 22, MC held a presentation on nutrition in the Tartan Room. The presentation was given by Jamie Weyant, a registered dietitian from the CMC clinic.

The presentation was geared toward mainly students and those interested in a health profession. The program’s intention was to get students involved in nutrition month and to inform them on matters dealing with becoming healthier. The presentation also discussed how to detect the signs associated with eating disorders and how to help those with a problem

Molly McNamara, director of wWllness Program/Trotter Fitness Complex, said “This program will show the campus we want to promote a healthy lifestyle.”

According to McNamara, the food service is helping with nutrition month by serving healthy food in the cafeteria. The food service also handed out health flyers this week outside the cafeteria explaining ways to stay healthy.

“The food has improved over the years and the food service is willing to listen to students needs about healthy food,” said McNamara.

Students can always find information on staying healthy in the Tucker Wellness Suite, located in the Huff Center.
