staying tough
Look to take on North Division
The Monmouth College women’s softball team has already equaled their win total from last season, and they still have over half of a season left to play. With a whole new squad and no seniors, the women look to be a tough team to beat in the future. They already made their presence known when they took a game from conference favorite Lake Forest and a strong Aurora team that won 40 games last year.
Coach Kari Shimmin unleashed freshman pitcher Sarah Christensen, from Galesburg High School, in a game each against Aurora and Lake Forest. Christensen came away with wins in both games and most impressively didn’t walk a single batter. Read More...
Golf has strong finish at Loras
During this past weekend, April 1 and 2, the Monmouth College men’s golf team traveled to Asbury, Iowa, at the Meadows Golf Course and took part in the Loras College Duhawk Spring Invitational. Due to bad weather on Sunday, the invitational lasted only one day instead of two. But regardless of this factor, the Fighting Scots had strong results, finishing fifth out of 22 teams. Read More...

Dunn throws a no-no
The Fighting Scots baseball team took two from the Grinnell College Pioneers in their first conference doubleheader of the year on Saturday, April 1. The first game was a gem, courtesy of Fighting Scots ace Dan Dunn’s no-hitter. Dunn went the distance, and then some, continuing his no-hitter into extra innings. Read More...
