Performer of the Week

Alex Stuart

Junior Alex Stuart earned himself a Midwest Con-ference Performer of the Week after having a stellar performance at the Dick Young Track and Field Classic in Grinnell, Iowa. Stuart competed in three field events which included the javelin, triple jump and long jump. The junior threw a career distance in the javelin, 187’9, which earned him the victory. He then placed second in the triple jump with a leap of 46’8, and to go along with his career best javelin throw, he added a career best in the long jump (21’10-1/2). His triple jump mark placed him 8th in the nation, and his javelin throw is just inches short of the national provisional qualifying mark.

Anna Coutts

Coutts had a .538 batting average for the week. She went 4-4 in the first game of a doubleheader against Knox and 1-2 in the second game to help the Scots win both in come-from- behind victories. Coutts kept her hot streak going in two tough losses against Illinois College. In the first game, she went 2-4 and followed with a 1-3 performance in the second game against the Lady Blues.
