What is your major?

I am double majoring in mathematics and music.

What do you plan on doing post-graduation?

Going to grad school for music theory and composition. I have not pinpointed a place yet, but I want to go to a big university or to a school in a big city, like Chicago or New York.

If you had to choose a favorite performance or ensemble you were in here at Monmouth College, what would it be?

Percussion Ensemble because it was a really different experience for me. I also really enjoyed singing in the Rosslyn Chapel in Scotland. We [the Chorale] sang this gospel song and we were not really sure if it was appropriate to sing; it was not what you would typically sing in a place like that. But that chapel had the best acoustics out of all the places we had been.

What is your favorite MC moment?

Getting into Chorale. Seeing your name on that list is a hell of a moment. Just seeing it was worth it.

If you had to choose between voice and piano, which would you say is your bigger passion?

Voice is definitely my bigger passion.

If you were in an ultimate math showdown, out of the math students in the department, who would you choose as your opponent?

I would choose Mike DeCaro, but he graduated. Out of the students that are still here I would pick Jered Piepenbrink. He’s not really competition but he would be the best choice. It would be good to sell tickets for.

Do you have a favorite professor or a favorite department here at MC?

Howard Dwyer is my favorite professor in the math department. Stephen Richter is my favorite professor in the music department. The music department kind of took over my life. I also really love Stacey Cordery; she was my ILA teacher. She stuck with me–she’s a hard professor but she’s worth it.

If you could have any super power what would it be?

It would definitely be flight. I have always wanted the ability to jump off the ground and go “whoosh!”
