Feed the parents: Pepperoni’s Pizza Company

Ordering a pizza with a couple friends at one in the morning…in my opinion it’s part of the college experience.
Monmouth has a few pizza places, but the one I checked out first was Pepperoni’s Pizza Company, located next to the Hardee’s off of North Main Street.
Pepperoni’s Pizza Company did not have an intriguing dine-in atmosphere, like Monmouth Soda Works, the restaurant I reviewed last week, but the food made up for the lack of uniqueness in the environment.
The restaurant offers several styles of pizza, including thin crust, hand tossed, pan and stuffed. It also has a wide variety of toppings for the pizzas, including some interesting looking choices such as jalapeno, sauerkraut and pineapple.
Perhaps the best thing about Pepperoni’s Pizza Company is its college special, which is offered to all Monmouth College students.
With this deal, you get a thin or hand tossed large pizza with one topping for $6.99, with the option of breadsticks for $.99.
I personally went with a hand tossed pepperoni pizza with the breadsticks, and I was impressed with the quality.
Although it was not at the same level as some famous pizza places in Chicago like Uno’s or Vito and Nick’s, it was certainly better than Little Caesars, Pizza Hut or Papa John’s or other typical franchise pizza restaurants. With the college special deal, it was some of the best pizza for that low of a price I have ever had.
The breadsticks were also very tasty, and definitely worth the $.99. They also came with either garlic or marinara sauce, which went really well with them.
Although Pepperoni’s Pizza Company is obviously known for its pizza, the restaurant also had a wide variety of pasta and sandwiches. Some sandwiches that sound delectable to me are the submarine, meatball sandwich and Italian beef.
Overall, I was impressed with Pepperoni’s Pizza Company. It combined good quality pizza with a reasonable price, and those combinations are sometimes hard to come by.
Another advantage of the restaurant is its hours, it’s open to midnight on Monday through Thursday, and 1:30 a.m. on Friday and Saturday. Good food is not out of sight, even if it’s late in the night.
Pepperoni’s Pizza Company offers delivery, dine-in and carry-out and its phone number is 309/734-8090
