What is your hometown?
Peotone, Illinois
What is your major?
Math and music
Do you have any plans for after college?
I haven’t figured that out yet. I should probably figure that out soon.
What is the latest news with the bands you are in?
Well, Half Dead Hamster broke up over the summer. BUT…there is a new sensation coming to Monmouth--Celtic Rock. I am in a band with Kurt Carlson (singer), Matt Danaher (guitar), Raleigh Moon (bass) and Mark Mullaney (bagpipes). I’m the drummer. We’re playing at the first open mic.
Between the music department and the math department, do you like one over the other?
That’s a hard question. I like them both in their own ways. In regards to a career, I am more math oriented. Music is more of a hobby.
Do you have a favorite professor in each of those departments?
My favorite professor in the math department is Dwyer, and Betts is my favorite music professor.
Have you ever taken a class that really scared you?
Yes, Introduction to Modern Algebra. It was like a foreign language. It had brand new math concepts that I had never heard of before.
Do you accept Sharon David’s challenge for the ultimate math showdown?
Yes! She would probably win, but I would put up one hell of a fight. After the math challenge, I would challenge her to Smash Bros. and would totally dominate.
Is there a favorite musical ensemble or concert you participated in?
Jered: Percussion ensemble; I’m in my element there, unlike Donny who was not in his element. In regards to concerts it would definitely be Stacey Heinrich’s senior music project. I don’t think I’ve ever worked harder on a piece of music before.
How is fraternity life going?
Sig. Ep. is cool. We got a lot of new guys, and we’re recruiting more all year.
