Alumni return for a weekend of reminiscing

There’s no place like Monmouth College.

Monmouth College Homecoming 2006 was hosted on Oct. 21-23. Not only was Homecoming 2006 a celebration for alumni and friends, but also a celebration for current students to show school spirit and participate in various events.

Homecoming weekend began on Friday, Oct 21, at 4 p.m., when Maj. Gen. Stephen T. Johnson was inducted into the Hall of Achievement, the highest honor Monmouth College awards to its graduates. Johnson served as the general of II Marine Force in Iraq in 2005 and 2006.

The weekend festivities continued as Richard “Doc” Kieft was honored for his 31 years with the chemistry department at Monmouth College. Kieft, the Garrett W. Thiessen Professor of Chemistry, was honored with a wine and cheese reception in the main concourse of the Huff Center on Friday evening.  Read More...
