The Rites of Spring tells its plans

In response to last week’s in-depth coverage of the vandalism throughout the Monmouth campus and neighborhood, the Rites of Spring (consisting of those individuals claiming responsibility for the anti-governmental spray-painted messages who have chosen to maintain their anonymity with this title) has released this statement to “The Courier” and directed toward the general public: “The Rites of Spring is currently organizing operations designed to force public exposure to various issues and perspectives.” In addition, the group has officially announced changes in plans for future protest measures.

“It has been determined that there will be no further vandalizing of property. However, further guerrilla advertising actions are anticipated. It is critical to the well-being of society to suggest ideas for public consideration outside of the easily ignored and marginalized methods for communication (e.g., flyer posting). Without such measures, it is impossible to have a society which can conduct itself responsibly.”
