Campus van complaint lodged

A complaint has been raised by students regarding the lack of college-funded transportation options for academic purposes. Junior Mollie Williams complained after facing difficulties finding transportation for Alternative Spring Break (ASB) last year. According to Williams, ASB requested two college vans at the beginning of the year, and were told they were only guaranteed one van. Williams then received a notice guaranteeing two vans for the trip at the beginning of second semester.
“We were shocked to find that we had lost one of the vans to a sports team two weeks before the trip,” said Williams. This year, senior Kelli Wefenstette and junior Abbey Hardin were dealing with the same situation with reserving college vans for ASB.
Williams has reportedly proposed that two separate sets of vans be purchased “because sports teams have dibs on them over another organization.” Williams has spoken with some of the deans on campus as well as the ASMC. “Hopefully, we can set up a system where the college will either have vans available for academic purposes or be willing to pay the difference,” said Williams.
