left in the dark after power outage
At approximately 8 p.m. on Saturday, Feb. 24, the entire city of Monmouth, including the Monmouth College campus, lost all power. Students were forced to live without electricity, and nobody was certain when the power would return. Students were instructed to stay in their dormitories and remain calm.
Each head resident and resident assistant was directed by administration officials to keep his or her residents inside to avoid the possibility of looting and rioting. Read More...
Archaeologist gives speech on lost findings in Iraq
When people think of Saddam Hussein and archaeology, these two topics are rarely thought of having anything to do with each other. Paul Zimansky gave a lecture to Monmouth College students and members of the Archaeological Institute of America at noon on March 1 entitled “City of the Grim Reaper: Rediscovery and Demise at Mashkan-shapir, Iraq,” in the Highlander Room of the Stockdale Center. Phone-a-thon for alumni support may become a student position
An important element to the livelihood of any college or university is donations from alumni. Monmouth College currently employs a company called RuffaloCODY (RC) in order to contact our alumni via the telephone in events referred to as a “phone-a-thon.” According to RC’s website, they are “the recognized leader in providing software, consulting, fundraising, enrollment management and other innovative solutions for nonprofit organizations.
