What is your major?
Business administration and public relations
What is your home town?
Knoxville, Ill.
What activities are you involved in on campus?
Kappa Kappa Gamma, MC track and field, Relay for Life, various honor societies, and, of course, the Courier!
What are your favorite MC memories?
I feel lucky to have had the opportunity to be involved in so many different activities with a variety of different people. I’ll never forget Thursdays at the paper, track practices EVERY afternoon in the spring, and sharing time with my best friends on the weekends. Having that opportunity and the ability to explore my interests inside and out of the classroom has been my favorite experience.
Do you have a favorite professor or department and why?
I am partial to the PR/CATA and political economy and commerce departments! And I wouldn’t necessarily say I have a favorite professor, but most helpful goes to Karen Cates. She has been especially helpful throughout my job search. There have been days I’ve stopped by her office in almost tears and she has helped me out and talked me through things. I really can thank her enough for all of that extra time.
What are your plans for after graduation?
I am moving to the Des Moines, Iowa area and will be working for Target as an executive team leader beginning June 11. Then after that...who knows?
What has your experience been like being a member of the Courier staff?
The paper has gone through many changes over the past four years. We have made so many positive changes and I think the future looks bright for the Courier. The staff this semester has done an amazing job working around schedules, meeting tight deadlines, and also being creative at the same time. There will be big shoes to fill next year.
Are there any specific things you’re going to miss about Monmouth?
I will miss the people. I have made many friendships through class, sports, my sorority, and other activities, many of which I hope I can sustain for years to come.
