A comedy act called
Mission IMPROVable will visit Monmouth College on Friday, Nov. 16.
The act will start at 8 p.m. in the Scotland Yard of the Stockdale
Center.
The act will feature
a group that consists of fifteen members, five of whom compose the
“agent team” that tours the country. Their show is based around
improvisation comedy, as indicated by their name.
The group is based
out of Chicago, Ill. (the world capital of improv comedy), and
they have been nominated five times for CAM’s “Comedy Act of the
Year.”
Mission IMPROVable
has been touring since 1999, performing at hundreds of college
campuses according to their website.
They are currently
touring the United States, with most of their shows located at
college campuses. Past performances by the group have included
much audience participation, and the group takes pride in getting
their audiences involved.
Mission IMPROVable,
whose website claims “we are the nation’s fastest and funniest
improvisational show,” has received respectable reviews, and they
are an affable group of people who promise “to bring you hilarity,
fun and humanity,” also according to their website.
Their upcoming
performance at Monmouth College will be the group’s first time
performing here, according to Abbie Alsene, assistant director of
campus events at Monmouth College.
Alsene said the
college is making an effort to bring in one comedy act and musical
act each month in an effort to provide more entertainment for
Monmouth’s growing student body.
Students have seemed
to respond well to the comedy acts so far.
