What is your major and where is your hometown?

Biology and Secondary Education.  Westmont, Ill.

What activities are you involved in at MC?

President of Blue Key, community service honor society; Kappa Delta Pi, education honor society; Alpha Xi Delta, social chair; Teacher Education Subcommittee; “Connecting the Dots,” education student publication; Relay for Life; Senior Citizen Prom in the spring

Who is your favorite professor and what is your favorite class and why?

Professor: Susan Van Kirk – I haven’t had her in class since sophomore year, but she has always been there for me and has always supported me. I loved her excitement in teaching education and overall I love her so much. Class: Reflections Course: Science and Religion - The class gave us the opportunity to look at the different religions and different aspects of religions regarding science. The multi-disciplinary classroom make-up made for great discussion.

What are your plans for after graduation?

I hope to become a high school biology and chemistry teacher and someday an education professor.

What will you miss most about MC?

I will miss baking cakes with the photography manager of the Monmouth College Courier.

What was one of your best memories from your time at MC?

Other than baking cakes, probably watching movies with my quadmates or the excitement after we  [Alpha Xi Delta] won Greek Week last year.

What is your proudest accomplishment here at MC?

Realizing that the students in the education department were displeased, and taking the initiative to complete two independent studies which were focused on proposing solutions and giving the students a voice. And, finally, publishing a monthly newsletter pertaining to the education field.
