In the near future, nearly everyone entering the physical and occupational therapy fields will
have completed a masters degree program. The course requirements for both programs
include a number of courses in biology and psychology, so students often major in those
areas.
Occupational Therapy
Occupational Therapy generally requires three semesters of
psychology, two semesters of biology (including anatomy and physiology), a semester of each of
physics and statistics and a computer science course.
Most programs also require that
students do at least 50 to 100 hours of observation in a clinical
setting before beginning the masters program.
