Monmouth College Academic Achievement Awards
After being admitted to Monmouth College, each student’s individual academic profile and official transcripts including their cumulative grade point average, class rank and ACT score, are reviewed. An initial academic-based annual (renewable) Achievement Award will be announced from the Financial Aid Office directly to the student. Achievement Awards are determined automatically, no additional application is needed from the student. It should be noted, that this Achievement Award does not represent the final nor complete financial aid offer. The Achievement Award is simply the first component in the overall financial aid offer that will be made available to students.

Monmouth College Fine Art Scholarships
Awards are provided in the areas of instrumental and vocal music, visual arts, and theater. Auditions for these scholarships take place in February during Fine Arts Weekend or by appointment. Scholarships range in value annually and require continued participation in the department. It is not necessary to major in the scholarship area.

Bagpiping and Highlander Drumming Scholarships

Army ROTC Scholarships
Full-tuition scholarships are awarded based on a student's merit rather than financial need. There are also separate allowances for books and fees as well as stipends that are worth up to $5,000 annually, all of which allow students to focus on academics and their training rather than their finances. Under this program, individuals who meet minimum service requirements may receive funding in addition to the general Post 9/11 GI Bill benefits. Under this program, Monmouth College has entered into a voluntary agreement with the Veteran’s Administration to provide matching assistance to help cover tuition expenses that exceed the highest public in-state undergraduate tuition rate. For more information on the Yellow Ribbon Program click here: http://www.gibill.va.gov/GI_Bill_Info/CH33/Yellow_ribbon.htm To talk with someone from the Monmouth College financial aid office, please send an email to: finaid@monm.edu

Unique to Monmouth College, the Plaid Ribbon Program was created to help even more Post 9/11 individuals who served our country. The Plaid Ribbon Program is a commitment from Monmouth College to provide assistance to help cover tuition expenses not already covered through the Post 9/11 GI Bill benefits, without the restrictions and the minimum lengths of service required by the Yellow Ribbon Program listed above. Local Community or Private Scholarships
Our Financial Aid Office staff at Monmouth College is continually announcing scholarship opportunities via the electronic bulletin board on campus. Students are encouraged to monitor the bulletin board on a regular basis and pursue scholarships often. In addition you may choose to seek scholarships through your church, your hometown/civic organizations or newspapers. The best time of year to seek private scholarships is October – February. Most scholarship deadlines are during March and April each year.

Searching the Web for Scholarships
As students begin their college search, many will conduct an "outside" scholarship search as well. An important thing to note is that Monmouth College accepts 100 percent of outside scholarships without reducing institutional dollars. Instead, we reduce the student’s self-help portion of their Financial Aid package (the amount you pay, the amount you borrow, or the amount you work through the work-study programs). This is an unusual advantage to students as most colleges and universities will reduce their own institutional dollars to students when outside scholarships are received.

There are many websites that will allow you to conduct online searches for available scholarships. Here are a couple of things to keep in mind as you do this……1) do not pay for a search service, 2) steer clear from websites that ask you for several key personal identifiers including name, address, social security numbers, driver’s license numbers, dates of birth.

Here are a few websites that our students have used and have been successful:
