After graduating from Monmouth College William J. Winslade went on to earn graduate degrees in Philosophy, Law, and Psychoanalysis. Through his teaching and writing abut Bioethics he has challenged students and the public to examine critically their views and vales. At the University of Texas Medical Branch at Galveston he holds the James Wade Rockwell professorship in Philosophy of Medicine in the institute for the Medical Humanities. In 1990 he received an honorary Doctor of Human Letters from Monmouth College and serves on the Monmouth College Board of Directors.
