In
order to promote and maintain a coordinated and professional look for
all Monmouth College publications, an approval process is required
before a purchase order will be issued. The College Communications
office has been designated as the clearing center for all college
graphic design. In
addition to ensuring that publications meet established graphic
standards, the College Communications staff will check for typographical
and grammatical errors, and occasionally make suggestions for enhancing
content to reflect a consistent "Monmouth College"
message.
Some
departments produce newsletters or reports
designed for special constituencies. These must adhere to
the same high standards of graphic design and be free
of spelling and grammatical errors.
Whenever
possible, publications should carry the official college logo in a
prominent position. High-resolution versions of the logo may be
downloaded from www.monm.edu/information/graphicstandards/
graphics.htm.
Please read the sections on Logos, Colors
and Fonts for specific information about logo
usage and design.
For
all commercial printing jobs, a printer's proof must be submitted in
advance. It may be submitted by fax (309-457-2330), email (jeffr@monm.edu),
campus mail, or in person (lower level of College Relations Building).
Because the College Communications office must sign off on the project
before it can proceed, it is helpful if you can submit the actual
purchase requisition along with the proof. Depending on complexity,
please allow one to three business days for approval. Brochures, flyers,
booklets, postcards and posters that are to be printed in house must also be submitted for approval if they
are intended for an external audience or public display. |
