MONMOUTH COLLEGE
RECEIVES $1 MILLION GIFT
Release Date: October 3, 2001
President Richard Giese announced Tuesday that Monmouth
College has received an anonymous $1 million gift. He noted the gift is the tenth $1-million
plus contribution made to the school in 2001 and will help continue the progress Monmouth
College has made in the past few years.
“I think the college’s momentum is terrific,” the donor said.
“Admission is strong and the academic outlook is quite favorable. There are many ways to
measure the success of a college, things like endowment and enrollment, and by all measures,
Monmouth is doing very well.
“I’m in the investment business, and each individual stock in
my company’s portfolio has to earn the right to be there,” continued the donor. “I feel that
Monmouth College is doing all the right things to have earned the opportunity to receive this
gift.”
“We’re delighted that Monmouth has had a lasting impact on
our donor, who is a former student,” said Giese. “The commitment this individual has shown to
our institution will certainly make an impact on our students for years to come.”
