MC’s HAQ TO SPEAK ON TURKEY AT INTERNATIONAL LUNCHEON

Farhat
Haq, chair of the department of political science at Monmouth College, will present the final
International Luncheon of the fall semester Nov. 7 at noon in the Highlander Room in the
college’s Stockdale Center.
Entitled “Hos geldiniz: Farhat Haq’s Welcome to Turkey,” the presentation is free and open to
the public. Lunch featuring international food is available, and tickets for the meal can be
purchased for $5 at the Stockdale Center office.
Turkey, situated on two continents, is a geographic bridge between Europe and Asia and serves
as a crossroads between East and West in other ways as well. In June, Haq participated in an
11-day study tour of the crossroads country, organized by the Center for International
Exchange of Scholars. During her talk, she will share her slides and impressions of Turkey and
will focus particularly on the theme of Islam.
