YULETIDE MUSIC ABOUNDS AT MONMOUTH COLLEGE

Area residents will be
in for a treat at Monmouth College Dec. 1-6 when the music department will host a variety of
free concerts.
The college’s three
vocal ensembles – the Chorale, the Chamber Choir and the Concert Choir – and the string
ensemble will perform at the Auditorium on Dec. 1. The program “Christmas at Monmouth: Come
Hurry and Run,” will begin at 7:30 p.m. The concert will feature both traditional and
non-traditional seasonal music.
All three choirs will
perform during the annual Christmas Convocation at the Auditorium on Dec. 4 at 11 a.m. The
Christmas Convocation will also include scripture readings during the one-hour program.
The Chamber Choir will
provide the entertainment for the Monmouth Associates luncheon on Dec. 6. The concert is free,
lunch costs $6 and reservations should be made by calling 457-2316. The Associates will meet
in the Highlander Room in the Stockdale Center.
All three vocal
ensembles are under the direction of assistant professor of music, Perry White.
