MC PROFESSOR RECEIVES GRANT TO STUDY IN JAPAN

College assistant professor Don Capener has received a $2,000 grant to participate in the
Japan Study Program this summer.
Capener, who teaches in
the department of political economy and commerce, will spend two weeks at Waseda University in
Tokyo, where he’ll study the differences and similarities in advertising and business
practices in Japan as compared to the United States.
The Japan Study Program
is an initiative by the Great Lakes College Association and the Associated Colleges of the
Midwest. Each year, the program provides travel grants for 4-6 faculty members who plan to
visit Japan for research or course development.
