MC Receives an Endowment
Gift
in Memory of Rob Groves
Release Date: February 15, 2002
When the late Rob
Groves attended Monmouth College, he loved the theater and performed in Crimson Masque
productions. Thanks to an anonymous gift made in Groves’ memory, the theater and Groves will
be linked for several years to come.
With the gift, the
college has started the Rob S. Groves Memorial Communication and Theatre Arts Endowment Fund,
which will support equipment needs for that department.
Groves graduated from
MC in 1980 and taught for a combined 19 years at nearby Tri-Valley Middle School and Warren
School. He passed away in 1999 due to cancer.
“I’m very excited about
what this gift will mean to our department,” said communication and theater arts professor
Bill Wallace. “This will allow us to have funds each year that we can count on to enhance our
programs. In addition, it’s a wonderful way to memorialize Rob and his love for the
department.”
