MC's Crimson Masque to Produce Brecht's "A Respectable Wedding"

Monmouth
College’s Crimson Masque will produce Bertolt Brecht’s “A Respectable Wedding” Feb. 21-24 in
Wells Theater.
The curtain will open for the Thursday,
Friday, and Saturday performances at 7:30 p.m., and the Sunday performance is a 2 p.m.
matinee.
Ticket prices are $6 for the general public;
$5 for senior citizens, high school students and children; and $4 for MC students, faculty and
staff. Tickets will go on sale Feb. 11 and may be ordered from theater professor Jim De Young

Brecht, the preeminent German playwright of
the 20th century, is well known for several works, including “The Caucasian Chalk Circle” and
“Mother Courage.” One of his earlier plays, “A Respectable Wedding” deals with a raucous and
comical wedding reception at the new home of a young couple.
Monmouth College lecturer Don Elwell is
directing the production, and Pamela Hansen, a freshman from Chicago, is the assistant
director. Student technical duties will be under the supervision of Tom Hill, a
sophomore from Chicago; Matt Poling, a sophomore from Burlington, Iowa; Lana Raines, a junior
from Orland Park; and Amanda Caldwell, a sophomore from Stronghurst.
Featured in the ensemble cast are Aaron
Cluka, a senior from Virginia, Ill.; Tina Mayer, a freshman from Lincoln; Elizabeth Kline, a
sophomore from Aurora; Lisa Rzeszutko, a sophomore from Lisle; Brandon Grear, a sophomore from
Palatine; Tom Scott, a senior from Burlington, Iowa; Emily Mitsdarffer, a freshman from Blue
Island; Phil Johnson, a freshman from Crystal Lake; and Hill.
