Professor will detail time spent in China at MC

MONMOUTH,
Ill. — Hannah Schell, assistant professor of philosophy and religious
studies at Monmouth College, will present the first International Luncheon
of the spring semester Feb. 19 at noon in the Whiteman-McMillan Highlander
Room in the college’s Stockdale Center.
Entitled “A Journey of a Thousand Miles Begins
with a Single Step,” Schell’s lecture will reflect on her time spent in
mainland China as a student in 1989 and 1994. Her talk will include her
observations on changes in the capital city of Beijing and information on
the gorges of the Yangtze River and the ancient city of Xi’an.
The presentation is free and open to the public.
Lunch, featuring international foods, is available. A meal ticket may be
purchased for $5 at the Stockdale Center’s Scan Plus office. Lunch
