Franklin to speak at MC for
Black History Month

MONMOUTH, Ill. — Monmouth College’s observance of
Black History Month continues Tuesday with a lecture by Tony Franklin at
noon in the Whiteman-McMillan Highlander Room in the college’s Stockdale
Center.
Entitled “Internalized Oppression: Time to Stop
the Cycle,” Franklin’s talk is free and open to the public.
Franklin, the unit director of the University of
Illinois Extension Office in Galesburg, was assistant dean of students at
Knox College from 1996 to 2001. He earned his bachelor’s and master’s
degrees from the University of New Mexico .
